All of this success comes on the heels of the staggering 16.8 million viewers in the show's first week.

Saban Brands Brings The Power To The Grove For The Premiere Of "Power Rangers Samurai"

To mark the debut of the all-new series "Power Rangers Samurai" on Nickelodeon, Saban Brands hosted a premiere screening event at The Grove in Los Angeles on February 7. Hundreds of Power Ranger fans waited hours ahead of the scheduled screening to get their seats before the show. Hosted by KIIS-FM personality "Manny On The Streets" and Gage Golightly, star of Nickelodeon's "The Troop," the event began with Samurai Power Rangers leading the audience through special "Ranger Training," all part of the emPower Movement to get kids fit and healthy!

Afterwards, fans got a sneak peek (hours ahead of the broadcast premiere on Nickelodeon) of the first episode in a special outdoor screening taking place in the central park at The Grove. Meanwhile the stars of the series participated in exclusive interviews and photo-ops leading up to a fan-frenzied cast signing.

Weeks ahead of the launch, special exclusives ran on top websites including IGN, EW.com and AOL TV, gathering momentum as the premiere date drew closer. Tune-in coverage was also seen in print publications including TV Guide and The New York Times, culminating in a large feature with the Los Angeles Times that included interviews with Saban Brands president Elie Dekel, Nickelodeon's executive vice president of programming Pete Danielsen, Red Samurai Ranger Alex Heartman, and even Walter Jones from the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series.

"Power Rangers Samurai" Featured In Special 3-D Murals

To celebrate the launch of "Power Rangers Samurai," special 3-D murals were created in New York and Los Angeles. The Los Angeles mural towered over West Hollywood in the high-traffic Melrose Shopping District at 7753 Melrose Avenue, while the New York mural can be seen on the Meatpacking District corner of 13th Street and Washington for the next two weeks.

"Power Rangers Samurai" Take Over The 2011 American International Toy Fair


Saban Brands brought the action-packed "Power Rangers Samurai" to the 2011 American International Toy Fair! Bandai highlighted the fall edition of their new toy line, including the very popular Megazord, an awesome toy that is created by combining the five individual Ranger Zords.

On Monday, February 14, Saban Brands invited partners, licensees and media to the "Power Rangers Samurai" POWER HOUR at The Grace Hotel in New York City. Elie Dekel, President of Saban Brands delivered a presentation including exciting new activities and future plans for Power Rangers and Paul Frank to those in attendance and was also joined on stage by Nickelodeon Executive Vice President of Marketing and Worldwide Promotions, Pam Kaufman.

To close the fun-filled evening the Samurai Power Rangers entertained the crowd with an action-packed performance.
Along with a live television interview with Bloomberg News to discuss Saban Brands, Power Rangers and Paul Frank, Elie Dekel also conducted individual meetings with Toy Book, The Licensing Book and AOL "Parentdish." Additionally, Mary Rafferty, Vice President of Toys & Hard Lines, participated in a taped interview with the CW 11 Morning News in New York City. The segment aired March 3 and featured the Bandai toys as well as some high-flying moves from the Samurai Power Rangers costumed characters.

Finally, the Samurai Power Rangers made two very special appearances in New York during Toy Fair. Both Mt. Sinai Medical Center and New York Presbyterian Children's Hospital were paid special visits by the costumed characters. After being treated to a special screening of the premiere episode, the Rangers visited and took pictures with the kids and gave them their very own "Power Rangers Samurai" t-shirts.

The Samurai Power Rangers continued their world domination, making an appearance at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in early February. On hand to support the release of the new toy line from Bandai, the Rangers hit the show floor and posed for pictures with fans during the five-day expo.

Paul Frank Goes Global During MAGIC Apparel Show In Las Vegas

An international Paul Frank summit was held in Las Vegas on February 13 to coincide with the prestigious MAGIC Apparel Show. The summit included over 100 attendees consisting of licensees and agents from the U.S. and around the world. Saban Brands executives including Elie Dekel, President, Kirk Bloomgarden, SVP International Licensing, and Nina Leong, SVP Licensing, addressed the crowd along with Ryan Heuser, Paul Frank's Chief Creative Officer, and spoke about the latest and greatest news on the brand, leaving everyone excited and energized about the new activities and future plans.

MJC was awarded the very first annual Golden Julius Award for the best U.S. licensee and Tracy Bunkoczy, Paul Frank's VP of Design and Mike Smith, Creative Director, presented the Paul Frank 2011 Style Guide.

Adam Cooper & Scott Murata Welcomed As The Latest Members Of The Saban Brands Team

Saban Brands added two new members to their constantly growing Los Angeles office. The company named Adam Cooper as the new Digital Marketing Manager and Scott Murata as the Assistant Manager of Product Development. Adam most recently worked as Director of New Media for Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and before that spent sometime working on President Barack Obama's 2008 campaign in the same capacity. Scott comes by way of DIC/Cookie Jar Entertainment where he was part of their global development team for over 5 years and he had previously spent time with Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products group.
