The Power Rangers phenomenon continues on Nickelodeon! It has been nine weeks since the February 7th launch of “Power Rangers Samurai” and the show maintains its rank as the #1 cable program in its time period with K2-11, B2-11 & B6-11, outperforming its competition by double and triple digits!

“Power Rangers Samurai” has been consistently powerful with girls, currently averaging a 60/40 boy/girl skew.

On Nicktoons, “Power Rangers Samurai” is also achieving huge success as the #1 program on the network in key kid demos, bringing in double-digit growth versus a year ago!

Nickelodeon International Picks Up "Power Rangers Samurai" Bringing the Popular Series to Multiple Foreign Markets

Nickelodeon International, in a multi-territory agreement, will bring the hit kids series “Power Rangers Samurai” to audiences across the globe. New markets include key European territories such as Germany, the Benelux, The UK and Ireland, throughout Latin America and in Australia and New Zealand. The show will begin airing in May 2011. The Power Rangers television series is distributed internationally by Marvista Entertainment.

The POWER Is ON In The Windy City!






It was the Green Ranger's time to shine at this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 12 in Chicago! The Rangers joined the annual Chicago institution that drew nearly 350,000 spectators and aired on the local ABC and CW affiliates. In addition to taking part in the parade, the Rangers also paid a special visit to patients at the Children's Memorial Hospital, along with posing for fans at such landmarks as the Sears Tower, Wrigley Field and - of course - beside the Chicago River that was dyed bright green as part of the yearly festivities!

Power Rangers Join Forces To Support Japan Relief Efforts

Putting the franchise's core value of helping others into action, the Samurai Power Rangers participated in two events supporting the Red Cross's Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Efforts this past weekend.



On Friday, March 25 the Samurai Power Rangers joined Bandai America, KIIS-FM, the City of Cypress and other local businesses in a donation drop-off event that helped the Red Cross raise over $100,000 and was covered by the KTLA news!

Then on Sunday, the Power Rangers headed to Santa Monica where they joined host Josh Duhamel and other celebs including "Black Eyed Peas" singer Fergie, "Glee" star Dianna Agron, "24" star Katee Sackhoff, and sisters Nicky and Paris Hilton in the Youth Run 4 Japan to raise money for the Red Cross. Over 4,000 participants of all ages took part in the run that raised over $150,000, and the Power Rangers were there to cheer everyone on at the start of the event and congratulated the runners as they returned (including Josh Duhamel and Fergie who both gave the Rangers a high-five).

It was time to glam up as the cast of "Power Rangers Samurai" flew in during a break from shooting in New Zealand to attend the star-studded Kids' Choice Awards on April 2.

Alongside top celebrities Heidi Klum, Stevie Wonder, Nicky and Paris Hilton, will.i.am, Steven Tyler, Josh Duhamel, the Kardashian sisters, Snoop Dog, and Willow Smith, the cast took part in orange carpet interviews with media outlets including AP TV, TV Guide Channel, Time For Kids, Seventeen.com, PopStar!, Just Jared Jr., Nick.com, Scholastic Kid's Press and Nickelodeon crews from Canada, Korea, Israel, Italy, and the U.K.





Power Rangers Samurai Premiering In France

Saban Brands and Marvista Entertainment announced that Power Rangers Samurai has been sold to Canal J and Gulli in France. The series will make its French debut on April 16th on Canal J and later in the year on Gulli.

The "Power Rangers Samurai" made quite the impression on executives at MIPTV, the world’s leading television program market, in Cannes, France. Over the four-day event executives were given special rides in charming "tuk tuk" shuttles that were branded with messaging from the #1 kids action series. Everywhere you saw a shuttle along the Croisette, you saw "Power Rangers Samurai."

This Valentine's Day, Paul Frank received lots of love from Apple while also ringing in the Chinese New Year. iTunes featured Julius Hearts Cupcakes! in their "Apps for Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year," where fans downloaded more than one million virtual cupcakes.

And more delicious news, the Julius Hearts Cupcakes! app received a 4.5/5-star average global rating. Over a recent 10-day period, it was the No.1 iTunes app download in China. Fans chose different iPhone backgrounds, lucky red envelopes and created customized cupcakes from more than 27 new holiday ingredients ranging from sprinkles to candy hearts. Sweet!

Paul Frank Pays A Very Special Visit for a Good Cause

Members of the Paul Frank team recently paid a visit to an undisclosed location in Orange County for Laura's house, an organization supporting victims of domestic violence (http://www.laurashouse.org/), and created an art installation for the outside kids play area. The once concrete walled space is now full of happiness, color and love thanks to Julius and some of his friends.


Dan Wilson, Chris Thomes & Margot Turkheimer Welcomed As The Newest Members Of The Saban Brands Team

Saban Brands added three new faces to the team this month, naming Dan Wilson as Vice President of Retail Development, Chris Thomes as Executive Director of Digital Production and Margot Turkheimer as Marketing Manager.

Dan Wilson arrives with over 15 years of entertainment marketing and sales experience, including stints at Disney and DreamWorks Animation. Most recently he led sales at Activision for their licensed games business unit, overseeing the launch of games for Transformers, Spiderman, and James Bond.

Chris Thomes brings his 15+ years of digital production experience to Saban Brands, having served as Executive Producer for Disney's Interactive Media Group where he developed digital content ranging from Disney Channel to the Muppets and most recently leading ABC's digital Oscars experience.

Margot Turkheimer comes to us from Disney and ESPN Media Networks, where she developed marketing promotions and events for affiliates with the goal of driving value, providing tune in support for priority programming and ultimately securing higher revenue for the Disney/ABC cable networks portfolio. We are excited to welcome these fantastic new additions to the Saban Brands team.
